LC text review and revision
For an exporter, the most expensive mistake is accepting a letter of credit without reading it. See the risks before you accept the text.

An amendment request is prepared
A concrete proposal to send to the counterparty for problematic clauses
The problem
Once the text is approved, every condition in it binds you. A single unmeetable clause, an unrealistic shipment deadline, or one word that doesn't match your invoice turns into a discrepancy at presentation — and a discrepancy into delayed collection. On the page every clause looks harmless; telling the dangerous one apart takes years of field experience. Yet nearly all of these risks can be seen before the text is even accepted.
What we do
We review the draft LC text issued in your favor (or to be issued by the buyer) line by line, before you approve it. The goal is simple: to know exactly what you're signing before you accept it. We treat each field as a separate risk item and, for every problematic clause, prepare a concrete amendment request to send to the counterparty.
How we do it
We conduct the review under UCP 600 and ISBP 821. We assess the document list (46A) for which documents, how many copies, and under what terms; the additional conditions (47A) for operational feasibility; and the shipment and presentation periods for realism. We check that the goods description (45A) matches the commercial invoice, and that the delivery terms align with the transport document and Incoterms 2020. We verify whether the confirmation and payment structure obstructs confirmability. For every problematic clause we prepare a concrete amendment request to be sent to the counterparty.
What you gain
- You see the full risk of the text before you accept it — no surprises.
- You prevent the time, bank charges, and negotiation losses of amending later.
- Discrepancy risk is eliminated at the text stage, not left to presentation.
- You approach the counterparty with a professional, reasoned amendment request — which also gives you leverage in negotiation.
